Whole-Child Healing, Whole-Family Support, Whole-System Change.
Healing children, strengthening families—through trauma-informed care, mental health services, and hope.
Healing children, strengthening families—through trauma-informed care, mental health services, and hope.
Whole Foundation exists to bring healing and hope to children and families impacted by foster care and adoption. We provide innovative, integrated, and Christ-centered care—supporting the whole child in mind, body, and spirit through neurodevelopmental assessments, trauma-focused therapy, caregiver support, and spiritual formation.
We envision a transformed child welfare system where mental, emotional, and relational health take precedence over legal permanence, because true permanence is only possible when children first find healing and wholeness. We see the Church becoming not just a place we attend, but a people who embody the gospel—where no child is without family and no family is without support. Through holistic care and trauma-informed policy reform, we aim to break cycles of generational trauma and equip every child and caregiver to thrive in health, purpose, and community.
As a nonprofit organization, your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and fund our mission for FREE mental health services for foster and adoptive children, including innovative solutions such as neurofeedback!

Healing begins with understanding. At Whole Foundation, every child and family who walks through our doors starts with a comprehensive intake and assessment process. This is more than just paperwork—it’s the foundation for a care plan that is personalized, holistic, and trauma-informed.
Children impacted by foster care and adoption often carry hidden wounds—developmental delays, learning struggles, medical needs, or unspoken grief. A careful, compassionate assessment helps us see the whole child: body, mind, and spirit. It ensures that no need is overlooked, and that every intervention is matched to the child’s unique story.
Our intake process includes:
After intake, our team collaborates with caregivers, providers, and community partners to build an individualized care plan. This plan may include trauma-informed therapies, medical referrals, caregiver coaching, or school supports. Every step is guided by our mission: to nurture resilience, restore wholeness, and equip children and families to thrive.
At Whole Foundation, assessment is not a test—it’s a conversation. It’s how we listen deeply, honor each child’s story, and chart a path toward healing together.
At Whole Foundation, we believe healing begins when children and families feel safe, seen, and supported. Trauma does not define a child’s future—but without the right care, it can shape their story in lasting ways. That’s why every service we offer is grounded in trauma-informed care—an approach that honors past experiences, nurtures resilience, and restores hope.
Children who have experienced foster care and adoption often carry the invisible weight of loss, separation, neglect, or abuse. These experiences impact brain development, emotional regulation, learning, and relationships. Traditional “talk therapy” alone may not reach the root of developmental trauma. Trauma-informed therapies go deeper, addressing the brain, body, and spirit together.
Whole Foundation integrates the best of evidence-based and relationally grounded practices to create pathways for healing:
We walk alongside children, parents, and caregivers with compassion and expertise. Every therapy is designed not only to reduce symptoms, but also to build lifelong resilience, restore healthy attachment, and help families thrive together.
At Whole Foundation, trauma-informed care is not just a program—it’s our posture. We believe every child is more than their past and deserves a future marked by healing, wholeness, and joy.
Healing happens in relationship. No child or caregiver was meant to walk this journey alone. At Whole Foundation, we believe that connection is the heart of resilience—the bridge between pain and hope, isolation and belonging.
Children in foster care and adoption often carry the wounds of broken trust. Rebuilding safe, consistent, and nurturing relationships is one of the most powerful ways to restore wholeness. Just as trauma is often experienced in relationships, healing also comes through them.
At Whole Foundation, connection is not an afterthought—it is central to everything we do. Whether it’s through therapy, community, or faith, our goal is that every child and family finds a circle of care where they are seen, known, and loved.
Because when children are connected, they can begin to heal. And when families are connected, they can begin to thrive.

Services Available to the Public:
Impact:
Every session helps underwrite Whole Foundation’s mission: ensuring that no foster child is without family support, and no family is without access to trauma-informed care.
Our Comprehensive Evaluation is designed to give a full picture of your or your child’s cognitive, emotional, and brain functioning. We combine advanced neurotechnology with standardized testing to provide a clear roadmap for treatment and growth.
What’s included:
Why it helps:
This comprehensive approach helps us identify underlying causes of learning, emotional, or behavioral challenges. With these results, we create a personalized plan—whether that’s therapy, neurofeedback, academic supports, or a combination—so you receive care that’s precise, targeted, and effective.
Cost $4495 + tax
Our Mini-Evaluation is designed for issue-focused concerns such as insomnia, ADHD, depression, or anxiety. This streamlined assessment gives us valuable insight into brain and cognitive functioning so we can target care effectively from the start.
What’s included:
Why it helps:
The Mini-Evaluation provides a focused snapshot of brain and cognitive function for common challenges. Results guide personalized recommendations for counseling, neurofeedback, or other supports—so you can move quickly toward solutions that work.
Cost: $2495 + tax
What it is:
Quantitative Electroencephalography (qEEG) is a safe, non-invasive test that records your brain’s electrical activity through small sensors placed on the scalp. The data is then compared to established, age-appropriate norms to create a personalized “brain map.” This map shows which areas of your brain may be overactive, underactive, or out of balance.
How it works:
Using your qEEG brain map, we design a customized neurofeedback training plan. Neurofeedback is a computer-based method where your brain receives real-time feedback (through sounds, visuals, or games) as it learns to shift into healthier patterns of activity. Over time, this helps the brain become more stable, flexible, and resilient.
Why it helps:
The Benefit of Personalization:
Because qEEG-guided neurofeedback is based on your unique brain activity, the treatment is tailored to your needs—making it more precise and effective than one-size-fits-all approaches.
Cost: $105 + tax/30 min session OR
$1890 + tax for a package of 20 sessions (10% discount)
*QEEG Brain Map ordered separately (see above)
Our Counseling Services provide a safe and supportive space for children, teens, adults, and families to process challenges, heal from adversity, and grow in resilience. We use evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches tailored to each person’s unique needs.
What’s included:
Why it helps:
Counseling empowers individuals and families to understand their experiences, build healthy coping skills, and restore balance. With the right support, healing becomes possible and lasting growth can take root.
Cost: $150 + tax/50 minute session

➡️ Dr. Virginia Hatch-Pigott - Founder & Executive Director.
➡️ Dr. Hatch-Pigott is a board-certified pediatrician, social worker, and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Hawai‘i John A. Burns School of Medicine. With over 25 years of experience providing comprehensive foster care services to children from birth through young adulthood, she brings a unique blend of medical expertise, clinical trauma training, and social work insight to her work with foster and adoptive families.
➡️ Deeply committed to whole-child healing—mind, body, and spirit—Dr. Hatch-Pigott specializes in foster care, kinship care, and adoption medicine. Her clinical interests focus on trauma-informed care, particularly the treatment of adverse health outcomes stemming from early life trauma and breaking the cycle of generational trauma. She is a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist (Arizona Trauma Institute), EMDR-trained, and a neurofeedback specialist certified in qEEG brain mapping. Additionally, she holds a Certificate in Traumatic Stress Studies through Dr. Bessel van der Kolk's renowned program.
➡️ In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Hatch-Pigott is a passionate advocate for reforming foster care policy at both state and national levels. Her vision is to shift the system’s emphasis from simply achieving legal permanency to providing trauma-informed, integrated mental health care that truly supports long-term relational, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
➡️ Dr. Hatch-Pigott believes that every person deserves to know that they are image-bearers of a Holy God, that they have a God-given purpose with unique gifts and talents, and that there is an availability of unlimited resources through the Word of God and power of the Holy Spirit. She believes an individual’s spiritual life is the firm foundation of health, healing, and wholeness. Through Whole Foundation: Foster Care & Adoption Center of Excellence, Dr. Hatch-Pigott is building a missional model of holistic care designed to transform the way we serve vulnerable children—mind + body + spirit—one child, one family, one system, and one policy at a time.
➡️ Dana Krieshok - Vice President.
➡️ As a partner to the President, Dana assists with board development, networking, mentoring, casting vision, and taking leadership in specific initiatives, committees, and special projects.
➡️ Dana joins Whole Foundation with a life-long passion for children and youth, especially those who are hurting. With over 40 years of experience in directing and discipling within youth and children’s ministry, she is a credentialed teacher with a background in public schools and homeschooling. Dana is also an AACC certified Biblical Counselor and Trauma Informed & Youth Mental Health Coach. Her heart for the lost and hurting draws her to Whole Foundation, where she comes alongside individuals to seek healing, wholeness, and identity in Jesus. She enjoys exploring Truth in God’s Word, writing biblically based curriculum centered on soul care, spiritual growth, and apologetics, and developing programs that highlight the love of God for these kids while making the impact of trauma-informed care evident, facilitating whole-child healing through the love of the Holy Spirit.
➡️ The ripple effects of trauma often spread from one generation to the next, affecting all those closest to those impacted by trauma. These wounded souls, as well as their caregivers, require support. In Christ alone, these patterns can be reversed and used for good. This underscores two of Dana’s favorite themes of REDEMPTION and TRANSFORMATION… to acknowledge that God steps into these traumas and REDEEMS the years the locusts have devoured, that God REDEEMS our suffering, TRANSFORMING those weapons of harm, loss, and destruction into tools for repair, fruitfulness, and construction, and that we are TRANSFORMED by the renewing of our minds… what a powerful God of hope and joy we serve!
➡️ Dana’s primary goal is to glorify God by facilitating space for wounded souls to find healing and wholeness, discover their purpose and identity in Christ as they see themselves through God’s eyes, exchange their ashes for that crown of beauty, and experience redemption and transformation through foster care services and neurofeedback that promote mental health.
➡️ Bridget Pigott - Secretary.
➡️ From the beginning, she has taken on a role of communication among the board to prepare everyone for meetings and hold important documents. She looks forward to continuing to help the unity of the board deepen as communication becomes clearer, and she diligently works to notate the workings of the ministry, particularly in fostering connections that enhance foster care services.
➡️ Coming from a career in ministry work for another nonprofit, Bridget is excited about how this ministry paves a way for children and parents to hear the Good News about Jesus Christ. (He loves YOU, yes you reading this - you’ve been adopted into His family)
➡️ She believes that God is a healer, who calls Himself Jehovah Rapha in scripture! Bridget understands that God wants to walk through each journey with His beloved children, recognizing that the journey is different for everyone. Whole Foundation offers healing in the categories of trauma-informed care, mental health, and spiritual growth, which, when engaged with, will unite families and deepen their relationships with God through whole-child healing.
➡️ Bridget’s simple goal is to honor God our Father in everything she does. Her desire is to see this ministry rise and God be glorified as children experience healing, learn about mental health practices like neurofeedback, and understand the adoption He has already given to them.
➡️ Katherine Hendrix – Financial Director & Executive Staff Manager.
➡️ Katherine Hendrix serves as the Financial Director on the Board of Directors for Whole Foundation and is the Executive Staff Manager. She brings over 12 years of experience as a Certified Neurofeedback Technician through the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance (BCIA). Katherine’s expertise includes Neurofeedback training, office management, direct oversight of care providers, and daily reporting to the Executive Director, all of which contribute to the trauma-informed care that Whole Foundation provides.
➡️ Her passion is rooted in helping children discover and grow in their identity in Jesus Christ, particularly through the foster care services offered by Whole Foundation. She encourages them to walk in the plans and purposes God has uniquely designed for their lives. Katherine firmly believes that God created each of us in His image to reflect His light and love to others—especially those in need.
➡️ Guided by Philippians 2:4, which calls us to care for the needs of others above our own, Katherine’s mission is to help each client reach their spiritual, mental health, and physical potential so they can continue the cycle of compassion and service. Her ultimate goal is to give all honor and glory to God the Father, to share the life and love of Jesus, and to be a faithful part of the blessing that Whole Foundation brings to children and their families, promoting whole-child healing.
➡️Sheila De Jong -- Member at Large and Prayer and Intercession Committee Lead.
➡️Sheila is the founder and president of Katelyn’s Fund Orphan Ministry, established in 2005 after the loss of one of their twin daughters, Katelyn. With over 20 years of experience in orphan care, Sheila's mission through Katelyn’s Fund is to advocate for the fatherless, equip families and caregivers, and to love the Lord above all else, allowing the overflow of this love to reach others and help them understand His love. It brings her joy to intercede for children and families, connecting in community. Katelyn’s Fund has provided financial grants to thousands of families and children from 56 different countries, supporting those in foster care through support groups and equipping conferences. Since 2011, Katelyn’s Fund has been involved in global orphan care, partnering with a care center to provide trauma-informed care training and caregiver support, ensuring employment for staff, and building and sustaining primary and secondary schools. These schools not only offer accredited education but also create opportunities to spread the gospel and share the love of Jesus.
➡️Sheila is passionate about helping people know Jesus, guiding them to experience His tangible love and kindness. She ensures that children and families grasp their identity in Christ, walking in that security, and recognizing their belonging to Him. It’s vital to understand that He provides resources and community; thus, they strive to invite others in, emphasizing the importance of walking together rather than alone. One of Sheila's favorite verses is Hebrews 13:8, "Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever." This brings anchored assurance that, regardless of circumstances, we can depend on who He is, as He is trustworthy and true to His promises.
➡️Sheila is thrilled to be part of the WHOLE Foundation, walking alongside those seeking to bring healing and hope while sharing the love of Jesus. She feels it is essential that we care for one another tenderly, reflecting the compassionate work that WHOLE is doing in whole-child healing and mental health. Serving on the board of directors of the WHOLE Foundation humbles her as she envisions ways to work alongside Him, focusing particularly on prayer and interceding on behalf of children, staff, and ministry team members involved in foster care services.
➡️Her goal is to seek Him with her whole heart and invite others to fully experience His unconditional and welcoming love. She prays that many will come to know Him more deeply and have transformative encounters with Him, bringing healing and hope. There is no greater joy than encountering Him in His presence, finding peace and strength, and looking forward to the promises He offers in Romans 8. He assures us that the sufferings of this present time are small compared to the joy and glory that await. May He stir hearts to recognize our true identities as sons and daughters of the Most High!
